Updated: Mar 23, 2022

Hello!! I am glad you are here reading this useful blog post!!

Have you ever tried to "eat healthier" and buy some produce and feel like your bill goes sky high?

Well... let me tell you how you can avoid this issue! Keep reading to find out!!

As you may know, certain fruits and veggies are fresh during specific times of the year. You might notice at the grocery store that several are sold all year-round. However, these might be pricier than you would like.

Now that we are going to transition into a new season pretty soon, I want to give you the insight on what fruits and veggies will be available at a more affordable price!

Here are all the spring fruits and veggies:

Fruits:

  • Apricots

  • Apples

  • Avocados

  • Bananas

  • Kiwi

  • Lemons

  • Limes

  • Mango

  • Pineapple

  • Rhubarb

  • Strawberries

Veggies:

  • Asparagus

  • Broccoli

  • Cabbage

  • Carrots

  • Celery

  • Collard Greens

  • Kale

  • Lettuce

  • Mushrooms

  • Onions

  • Peas

  • Radishes

  • Spinach

  • Swiss Chard

  • Turnips

Once you focus on these fruits and veggies you will notice that they will be fresh and always at affordable prices.

You will know which produce is seasonal as grocery stores always arrange them right in front of the main entrance.

Whenever you buy produce there's always an option of buying them pre-washed and packaged. Obviously the labor involved in these processes increases the final price. One thing you can consider is buying them without a package as they are a few $$ cheaper.

Another trick you can include is including a stash of frozen fruits and veggies. Grocery stores usually carry lots of options but they have smaller packages. Sams or Costco are the best option as they offer lower prices with bigger packages.

Hope all of these tips can help you find a way to include more produce without breaking the bank!!
